Let me introduce our staff photographer to you.

Sarah McMurray, at this writing, works for ADA Carbon Solutions out of Littleton, CO. She attended Florida College, the Cleveland Institute of Art, and Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY. At Western she graduated with  a double major in Photo Journalism and Physics with awards for the highest GPA in the Physics class. She received her Masters in Materials Handling from the Colorado School of Mines. She keeps busy traveling for ADA, but keeps her hand in the photography game. Much of her excellent picture work can be viewed at www.Flicker.com. Just enter Sarah McMurray in the SEARCH engine.

Sarah fits in well with the rest of the staff of Spritbuilding in that she is overqualified and underpaid for this job. She has experience as the assistant online editor for the paper at Western Kentucky and the newsletter for the Physics department as well. She has done work in Physics Education Research by copyediting and verifying physics problems and principles for their teaching/tutorial website. She was departmental photographer for the Physics department.

In addition to her private portrait work, and head shots for aspring Chicago actors, Sarah did a photography internship with Dimitre Photography in Chicago. She has had photography and drawing credits with two different play openings in theatres in Chicago and Bloomington, Indiana, as well as doing the still photography for two music videos which received national play on cable country music television. Sarah also did a house restoration video presentation that received accolades from the producers of RESTORE AMERICA and AMERICAN CASTLES which airs on HGTV, as well as from the Director of the National Trust in Washington, DC and the Bowling Green Preservation Society.

Sarah also puts her talents to work in spiritual ventures when opportunities present themselves. She videoed and produced a DVD of introduction for the Anderson Church of Christ in Anderson, IN, as well as chronicling in video and still photography an evangelistic trip to Moscow/St. Petersburg, Russia. She stays busy in her local congregation in Golden, teaching Bible classes for teens and young children as well as participating in a local “Big Sisters” type of program in her community. Her latest project for Spiritbuilding was the art work and editing of WHERE’S POLYGON?, a colorful geometry introduction for youngsters.

We are excited to have someone with her expertise in film/digital/video photography on staff, as well as to be able to consult with her on any problems in astrophysics, electron microscope operation, atom smashing, or mercury filtering by carbon filters on modern power plants that we may encounter. We are obviously a very special publishing house. Many of her pictures can be seen inside and on the covers of Spiritbuilding materials. You can contact Sarah at her site, or at Sarah@spiritbuilding.com.
