Brooke Thomas
Brooke Thomas has been serving non-profit ministries, including ministers since graduating cum laude from Anderson University with a major in accounting and minor in finance. She is dedicated to serving those involved with the Lord’s work in the financial realm, where she is most comfortable. She also has experience with accounting, tax, and payroll issues that complicate practices in the non-profit field. She has served several years working with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at Anderson University.
She is comfortable handling all your tax needs over the phone, by FAX, or email.
Brooke has been married for five years to her best friend, Richard Thomas. They have been worshipping with the Anderson church of Christ since before it was the Anderson church of Christ, when the congregation was located in Alexandria, IN. Her husband, Richard, is the Treasurer for the Anderson church of Christ, and together they are learning all about parenthood with their son, Nicolas.
You can contact Brooke Thomas by email at Brooke@Spiritbuilding.com.
Although Spiritbuilding recommends Brooke without reservation, when you contact her your accounting needs and info are strictly between yourself and Ms. Thomas, and have nothing to do with Spiritbuilding Publishing.
I did my own taxes for years because I couldn’t find a dependable accountant who was able to deal with a minister’s particular issues in a knowledgeable way, no matter what they told me. Some were even a bit on the shady side with the accounting they proposed. I switched over a number of years ago when an accountant saved me $700 because she knew about tax law changes that I didn’t know about. I’ve never regretted it.
If you want to be one of those guys who are proud of fighting the IRS year after year in multiple audits that’s fine and certainly your choice. But if you would like to just meet your legal obligations and get through tax time every year with a clear conscience while having someone you can contact with questions, let me recommend Brooke. She is a “spark-plug” of a Christian (I’m sure that’s what Paul would have said) and a joy to work with in every area. - Carl McMurray
