Bio

•       Born in Florida I never got the sand out of my shoes. I still love the way the air smells different when I cross the state line.
•   
      Raised in North Alabama as a true child of the South. I still hold the door for women, say “please,” “thank you,” “yes ma’am” and “no ma’am” to 17 year old check out girls, love sweet tea, and tell my Dad “I love you.” Still have a battle flag of the Confederate States that was used in the War of Northern Aggression. I keep it as a reminder of our constitutional freedom to “pull out” of disagreeable unions, that was trampled on. But I keep it privately so as not to offend brothers I love very much.

•       Over thirty years of labor with congregations of believers in Iowa, Nebraska, Florida, Tennessee, and Indiana. My wife and I presently work and worship with the Anderson church of Christ in Anderson, Indiana.
•      Over a dozen trips to the Philippines, Ukraine, and Russia scouting, planting, and encouraging churches. Check out www.EvangelismUpdate.com.
•       Having done live and taped TV work I believe I have a face for radio. 15 years on-air time with live call-in programs. I love radio work.
•      Writing articles for newspapers, online journals, and bulletins help pave the way for several Bible workbooks and commentaries including From Beneath the Altar (a study of the Revelation), Esteemed of God (a study of Daniel), Compass Points (for new Christians), Inside Out (studying spiritual growth), and We’re Different Because… (a study of authority and historic divisions in churches of Christ)

•     The crowning jewel in my family is the best choice I ever made in my life, my beloved, Lorna.
•     Sarah, my first born, tall, beautiful, and so smart she makes me uncomfortable. 28 at this writing.
•      Forrest, a man’s man, at home in the woods, on a boat, or teaching the Bible to teens, he loves them all. 25 at this writing.
•      Terri, chosen by my son as his bride and appreciated and loved as another beautiful daughter. 24 at this writing

•      Fishing (fresh water, salt water, live bait, lure, or spear fishing with scuba)
•      Hunting (deer, turkey, rabbit, hog, pheasant, dove… what’s in season?)
•      Banjo (a love that is fading for lack of time found to practice)
•      Reading (biblical, leadership, spy novels, military, westerns, vampires…)
•      Movies (I confess, to loving the lack of commercials and longer plot)
•      Truth & teaching (not last in the least because they’re last in this list)
