Susan is a native of Hertfordshire, England. She trained in the hotel industry in London and Switzerland, developing her passion for setting standards in the training and social skills arena. In 1988 Susan became the founder of First Impressions, Ltd., which specializes in developing training programs for hotels, country inns and restaurants. These programs are designed to create high standards of service with particular emphasis on social skills.
In 1986 Susan met and married her husband Alan in Brussels, Belgium. In 1989 they relocated to the USA, living in Virginia, Pennsylvania and Arkansas where she currently lives in Little Rock, with her husband and sons, Christopher and Andrew.
In 1999 Mrs. Elsworth volunteered at her son's Kindergarten class in Virginia. She recalls that she was horrified at the way the children interacted with each other, but the teacher said they did not have the resources to handle these situations. The teacher asked her principal if Susan could work with different classes to help with basic manners. The overwhelming response from all principals and teachers so far has been extremely positive. Elsworth started with a flip chart and handouts and this snowballed into her working with over 10,000 school children in many different schools throughout several counties in Virginia.
Now based in Little Rock, AR, Susan has presented to many schools and church groups of MOPs (Mothers of Pre-schoolers), She presents business etiquette classes regularly to students at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and private schools in the area, and has had numerous requests for documentation, (She presented to 360 MOPS
(Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) and over 90% of them emailed requests for some form of literature).
MANNERS MATTER! is her first project and several spin-off books dealing with specific areas of Manners are in the works.
